Dear Members and Friends of the APS-Caribbean Division

Welcome to Costa Rica as we invite you to the next APS-CD to be held from February 27 to March 1, 2017!

For this meeting of the APS-CD, the organizing committee looks forward to not only offer you the opportunity to visit the “happiest country in the world” in 2015, but also to visit a country that is recognized for its biodiversity, natural treasures and many attractive tourist destinations. Furthermore, this visit also offers to all of our APS friends the opportunity to explore and discuss research, management, commercial and academic activities in four areas of great importance in our region:

1. Biology, management and impact of post-harvest microorganisms
2. Biology, management and impact of non-quarantine plant pathogens
3. Biology, management and impact of quarantine diseases
4. Tropical nematology

Given the importance of these different areas the general meeting theme is, “Crop losses, phytosanitary risks and tropical plant diseases: Advances and challenges”.

Renowned international speaks are invited to join us at the meeting to help facilitate the exchange of ideas and project advances, as well as to help strengthen the research being conducted in the region in order to overcome the production and management challenges that growers face due to plant diseases and nematodes in the tropics

We invite all members of APS, strategic partners and sponsors to take advantage of this reunion being held in Costa Rica. The APS-CD meetings have always had a significant attendance of a diverse and influential community of outstanding professionals dedicated to academic and business activities in the region.

The organizing committee would especially like to invite students to participate in this meeting and share their results from research projects related to Plant Pathology and Nematology, as well as to take advantage of the opportunities that APS offers. The APS-CD offers a wonderful environment for network building and interactions with other researchers and professionals regarding important issues in the Caribbean Region.

We are sure that those who accept this invitation will very much enjoy an excellent meeting of the APS Caribbean Division in Costa Rica!

Take advantage of the window of opportunity that will exist for early registration and be one of the many “sponsors” of this event!
